FESCO Transportation Group and DB Сargo have launched the first block train from Europe to China via Brest in Belarus and Commercial Port of Vladivostok in the Russian Far East.
On November 24, the train carrying 31 40’ units laden with metal products arrived from Duisburg, Germany, to Brest. There, the containers were loaded onto 1520 gauge fitting platforms and proceeded to Vladivostok, where they will be loaded onto a vessel to be delivered to Shanghai by a FESCO operated regular container service.
The transit time from Brest to Shanghai will make 20 days. The next block train is scheduled to run in the second half of December this year.
The project is part of Trans-Siberian LandBridge service jointly operated by RZD Logistics and FESCO. For the time being, more than 1,000 TEU were carried by the service.
