Container Traffic via Azov and Black Sea Basin Ports in October 2020 Up 2.5%

    According to SeaNews PORTSTAT analytic online service, the total container throughput via the Azov and Black Sea basin ports in October 2020 increased by 2.5% year-on-year. Import was up 6.7%. Export, on the contrary, declined by 2.1%. Transit and cabotage were non-existent in October.

    The share of the Azov and Black Sea basin in the total container traffic via all the Russian seaports in October 2020 amounted to 13.8%.

    Laden container throughput grew by 3.3% year-on-year. Reefer containers accounted for 9.7% of the total laden container traffic, and dry containers for 90.3%. Imports made 50.6% of all the laden containers, and exports 49.4%.

    Empty container traffic decreased by 0.4%.

    The port of Novorossiysk accounted for 98.4% of the aggregate container throughput via the Russian Azov and Black Sea basin sea ports in October. Azov handled 1.5%, and Kavkaz 0.1% of the total.
