TOP-5 Russian Terminals Throughput in January-October 2020

    According to SeaNews PORTSTAT analytic online service, the total cargo throughput of all the Russian sea ports during January-October 2020 amounted to 681.9 mn tons (-2.8%). Five terminals handled 187.4 mn tons or 27.5% of this volume.

    CPC-R in Novorossiysk remains the leader in terms of cargo throughput. Its cargo traffic decreased by 4.9% down to 49.4 mn tons.

    Cargo traffic via Novorossiysk Commercial Sea Port amounted to 45 mn tons, down 27.7% year-on-year.

    Primorsk Commercial Port handled 41.8 mn tons, down 19.4% year-on-year.

    Cargo throughput via Transneft Kozmino Port in Vostochny increased by 0.2% up to 27.8 mn tons.

    Vostochny Port handled 23.4 mn tons. Its cargo traffic was up 10.3% year-on-year.

    It should be noted that the stevedores which demonstrated the highest growth did not get into the Top-5. Oteko Portservice in Taman saw its cargo traffic surge 5.9-fold, Arctic Consulting Service in Arkhangelsk was up 4.3-fold, Sakhalin-Shelf-Service in Moskalvo was up 3-fold.

    Also, astronomical growth figures was demonstrated by Arkhangelsk River Port, which handled 0.2 thousand tons in January-October last year, and this year handled many times more (+45,650%).

    The largest decrease in cargo traffic was in Commodity Service in Murmansk (-95.4%), Nakhodka oil bunker (-91.7%), and K-Market Kozmino in Vostochny (-80.4%).
