TOP-5 Russian Terminals’ Ore Throughput in January-September 2020

    According to SeaNews PORTSTAT analytic online service, the ore throughput of all the Russian sea ports during January-September 2020 amounted to 9.9 mn tons (+47.8% year-on-year). It should be noted that ore accounts for 1.6% of the total throughput.

    Novorossiysk Commercial Sea Port is the leader in terms of ore throughput with 3.7 mn tons, up 45.8% year-on-year.

    Murmansk Commercial Sea Port saw its ore traffic surge 2.4-fold up to 1.9 mn tons.

    Murmansk Bulk Terminal handled 1.6 mn tons, up 13.2% year-on-year.

    Ore throughput via Vanino Commercial Sea Port increased by 8.5% up to 828.2 thousand tons.

    Sea Port of St. Petersburg handled 653.9 thousand tons (up 3.4-fold).

    The highest growth was in Sea Port of St. Petersburg (up 3.4-fold). Murmansk Commercial Sea Port saw its ore traffic surge 2.4-fold, Nakhodka MTP was up 87.9%.

    The largest decrease in ore traffic was in Port Logistic in the port of Vyborg (-56.4%), Okhotsk Sea Port (-34.5%) and Rostovsky  Port (-34.4%).
