According to the RF Federal Customs Service statistics, during January-August 2020 Russia imported 35.8 mn pairs of leather footwear, down 17.3% year-on-year. In terms of value, leather footwear import decreased by 23.4% year-on-year down to $865.2 mn.
Clothes import into Russia declined by 6.8% down to $4.6 bn.
Cotton fabric import during the first 8 months was down 6.8% year-on-year to 188.6 mn sqm. In terms of value it decreased by 3.9% down to $101.2 mn.
Cotton fabric export from Russia grew by 36.6% year-on-year up to 95.1 mn sqm worth $33.5 mn, up 5.3%.
In August, leather footwear import declined by 37% year-on-year and grew by 15.9% month-on-month making 5.1 mn pairs worth $158.2 mn, down 35.2% year-on-year, but up 34.3% month-on-month.
Clothes import was up 4.6% year-on-year and up 13.9% month-on-month to $872.5 mn.
Cotton fabric import in August decreased by 14.3% year-on-year and increased by 5.8% month-on-month amounting to more than 25.3 mn sqm. In terms of value, it made $12.2 mn, up 7% year-on-year and down 4.7% month-on-month.
Cotton fabric export declined by 0.1% year-on-year and by 75.9% month-on-month to make 9 mn sqm. In terms of value, it made $3.3 mn, down 2.9% year-on-year and down 21.4% month-on-month.
