Global Ports Relocates Cranes from Ust-Luga o FCT

  • Global Ports Investments has relocated 6 E-RTG cranes manufactured by Konecranes its from Ust-Luga Container Terminal to First Container Terminal in St. Petersburg.

‘The redistribution will ensure optimal use of the Group’s equipment, taking into account the current volume and direction of freight traffic at specific terminals, while providing a consistent high quality of service,’ the company said in a statement.

The transfer of the E-RTG cranes from ULCT to FCT was carried out by relocation specialists from FESCO Transportation Group, with the direct transportation of the cranes carried out over 9 days and the total project implementation taking 10 weeks.

Each of the relocated cranes has a lifting capacity of 50.8 tons under the spreader and can handle 7+1 rows of containers and stacks of 5+1 containers. The relocated equipment will add to 12 existing RTG cranes at FCT, increasing site capacity, lowering operating costs and mitigating environmental impact through the use of more efficient equipment.

The equipment will be put into operation after commissioning, final installation, power supply connection, crane adjustment and obtaining a permit from Rostekhnadzor.

At ULCT, 5 E-RTG cranes remain in operation to ensure the continued smooth and efficient handling of containers arriving at the terminal.
