According to the RF Federal Customs Service statistics, during January-April 2020 Russia imported 22 mn pairs of leather footwear, down 1.8% year-on-year. In terms of value, leather footwear import decreased by 8.6% year-on-year down to $495 mn.
Clothes import into Russia also declined by 9.3% up to $1.98 bn.
Cotton fabric import during the first 4 months was down 2.9% year-on-year to 96.1 mn sqm. In terms of value it decreased by 0.2% down to $53.9 mn.
Cotton fabric export from Russia grew by 11.6% year-on-year up to 36.7 mn sqm worth $16.4 mn, down 4.7%.
In April, leather footwear import dropped by 33.3% year-on-year and by 54.2% month-on-month making 2.2 mn pairs worth $48.1 mn, down 43.5% year-on-year and down 59.5% month-on-month.
Clothes import was down 42.1% year-on-year and down 50.1% month-on-month to $273.8 mn.
Cotton fabric import in April declined by 30% year-on-year and by 38.8% month-on-month amounting to more than 17.6 mn sqm. In terms of value, it made $9.5 mn, down 32.1% year-on-year and down 39.1% month-on-month.
Cotton fabric export decreased by 46.8% year-on-year and by 52.9% month-on-month to make 5.1 mn sqm. In terms of value, it made $2.9 mn, down 35.6% year-on-year and down 27.5% month-on-month.
