According to the RF Federal Customs Service, in January-April 2020 Russia exported 56.6 mn tons of coal, down 17.5% year-on-year. In terms of value, coal export amounted to $3.7 bn, down 36.4% year-on-year.
Coal import during the period under report made 7.1 mn tons, down 1.2% year-on-year, worth $103.7 mn, up 5.9% year-on-year.
Coke and coal char export in January-April 2020 made 623.9 thousand tons, down 42.5% year-on-year, worth $117.6 mn (-56.6% year-on-year).
In April, coal export made 11.9 mn tons, down 22% year-on-year and down 34.7% month-on-month. Value-wise, coal export declined by 34.9% year-on-year and by 32.5% month-on-month making $798.5 mn.
Coke and coal char export in April amounted to 162.9 thousand tons, down 47.3% year-on-year and up 7.4% month-on-month. In terms of value it was worth $26.8 mn, down 66.6% year-on-year and down 11.3% month-on-month.
