Top 5 Countries of Destination for Russian Export

    According to SeaNews Russian Foreign Trade Customs Statistics online service, in Q1 2020 Russia exported $87.7 bn worth of goods, down 14.5% (or $14.9 bn) year-on-year. In terms of tonnage, Russia’s export decreased by 6.7 mn tons, or by 2.9% down to 221.5 mn tons.

    The Top 5 countries of destination accounted for 38% of Russia’s entire exports in terms of value and for 41.4% in terms of tonnage.

    In terms of value of Russian export in Q1 2020, China rates the first with shipments to this country worth $12.1 bn, down 4.7% year-on-year.

    Russian export to the Netherlands dropped by 35.2% down to $7.9 bn.

    Shipments to Germany declined by 29.5% down to $5.5 bn.

    Exports to Turkey were worth $4.4 bn, 12% below the result of the first quarter of 2019.

    Exports to South Korea amounted to $3.4 bn, down 20.9% year-ln-year.

    In terms of tonnage of Russian export received, China rates the first with 36.1 mn tons (up 6.8% year-on-year) in Q1 2020.

    The Netherlands imported 19.4 mn tons of cargo from Russia, 24.8% less than during the same period last year.

    Turkey rates the third with 12.6 mn tons, and increased of 15.6% year-on-year.

    Export shipments Germany made 12.5 mn tons, down 17.8% year-on-year.

    South Korea rates the fifth with 11.1 mn tons (-17.2%) exported from Russia in Q1 2020.
