Hosiery Import Down in 2020

    According to SeaNews Russian Foreign Trade Customs Statistics online service, in 2019 Russia imported 1.4 bn pairs of hosiery (-37.9% year-on-year) worth $440.3 mn (-6.5%).

    Hosiery was shipped to Russia from 73 countries, most significant supplies were made from 3 countries: China, Belarus and Serbia.

    Hosiery import from China increased 2.4-fold in physical terms to amount to to 822.3 mn pairs. In monetary terms, it was up 21.4% to $138 mn. Almost all the shipments were designated for St. Petersburg, Moscow and Krasnodar Kray.

    Belarus exported to Russia 257.6 mn pairs (-83.8%) worth $51.8 mn (-36.5%). The main regions of destination were Moscow, Pskov and Smolensk Oblasts, and Krasnodar Kray.

    Hosiery import from Serbia decreased by 5.1% in physical terms down to 114.1 mn pairs and by 21.4% down to $103.3 mn in monetary terms. Almost all of the shipments were designated for Moscow and Novosibirsk Oblast.
