  • According to SeaNews PORTSTAT analytic online service, the total container throughput via the Far East basin ports in January 2020 grew by 7% year-on-year. Import was up 13.2%, cabotage up 9.3% and export increased by 12.5%. Transit, on the contrary, dropped by 47.2%.

    The share of the Far East basin in the total container traffic via all the Russian seaports in January 2020 amounted to 33.5%.

    Laden container throughput in the Far East increased by 12.6% year-on-year. Reefer containers accounted for 4.9% of the total laden container traffic, and dry containers for 95.1%. Imports made 48.8% of all the laden containers, exports 20.3%, cabotage 26.4%, and transit 4.5%.

    Empty container traffic decreased by 5.1%.

    The port of Vladivostok accounted for 57.9% of the aggregate container throughput via the Russian Far East basin sea ports in January. Vostochny handled 23%, and Korsakov 9.2% of the total.
