Coal and Coke Export Down in January

  • According to the RF Federal Customs Service, in January 2020 Russia exported 12.5 mn tons of coal, up 13.9% year-on-year and down 30.2% month-on-month. In terms of value, coal export amounted to $835.1 mn, down 13.6% year-on-year and down 34.4% month-on-month.

    Coal import during the period under report made 1.8 mn tons, up 19.8% year-on-year and up 31.6% month-on-month, worth $27.5 mn (+9.6% year-on-year and down 0.7% month-on-month).

    Coke and coal char export in January 2020 made 168.1 thousand tons, down 34.4% year-on-year and down 30.5% month-on-month) worth $31.6 mn (-48.8% year-on-year and -34.3% month-on-month).
