A grain terminal project to be developed at the rail station of Matshievskaya was on the agenda at a recent meeting of the Zabaikalsky Kray authorities.
According to the Kray authorities’ press office, the investor of the project is Pоwer China, and the subcontractor is Vzryvprom.
The terminal is to take some 8 months to build. The project envisages developing two rail parks, 5 narrow-gauge rail lines for Chinese rolling stock and 5 broad-gauge railway lines of the Russian standard.
The terminal is expected to handle 8 mn tons of grain per annum. According to Gennady Gusev, deputy Chairman of the Zabaikalsky Kray government, the Chinese investor intends to implement its handling and transportation technologies.
