Krasnye Barrikady Shipyard has resumed operations after being conserved for two years. The yard started cutting steel for vessel sections for shipbuilding projects.
For 2020, modernization and technical upgrade of the yard is planned. The target is to build up to ten vessels annually, according to Pyitr Morozov, manager of Krasnye Barrikady.
According to United Shipbuilding Corporation, in which Krasnye Barrikady is incorporated, at present 218 people are employed at the yard. By the end of 200 about 600 employees are to be hired.
United Shipbuilding Corporation acquired Krasnye Barrikady this year on commission of President Vladimir Putin. Before that, the yard had been out of operation for two years.
