According to the RF Federal Customs Service statistics, during January-October 2019 Russia exported 34.2 mn tons of ferrous metals, down 11.1% year-on-year. In terms of value, ferrous metals export declined by 20.5% down to $15.5 bn.
Intermediate iron and unalloyed steel products export was down 8.3% year-on-year to 12.1 mn tons. In terms of value, it decreased by 23.2% down to $5.1 bn.
In October, intermediate iron and unalloyed steel products export was down 11.7% year-on-year and down 5.7% month-on-month making slightly over 1.1 mn tons. In terms of value, it was down 31.6% year-on-year and down 11.9% month-on-month to $420.7 mn.
Iron and unalloyed steel flat section export in January-October declined by 16.1% year-on-year down to 5.8 mn tons worth $3.2 bn, down 23.6%.
In October, this commodity export was down 23.4% year-on-year and up 3.1% month-on-month making 558.9 thousand tons worth $288.4 mn (down 33.4% year-on-year and down 1% month-on-month).
Cast iron export in January-October declined by 20.4% year-on-year down to 3.7 mn tons worth some $1.3 bn, down 26.9%.
In October, cast iron export made 246 mn tons, down 27.3% year-on-year and down 38.4% month-on-month. In terms of value, it amounted to $81.7 mn, down 38.4% year-on-year and down 38.8% month-on-month.
Ferroalloys export in January-October increased by 2.9% year-on-year up to 685.7 thousand tons worth $685.7 mn (-5.7%).
In October, ferroalloy export was down 14.7% year-on-year and down 8.4% month-on-month to 64.9 thousand tons. In terms of value, it declined 30.2% year-on-year year and by 1.2% month-on-month down to $92.1 mn.
