RZD Logistics, Federal Freight Company and Russian Railways’ Center for Transport Services have launched an express train braded ‘Freight Express’ to carry timber and logs export from Nizhnu Novgorod, Kirobv and Izhevsk regions to China.
Cargo is consolidated at the rail station of Yar in Udmurtia. The train is routed via the Suifenghe-Grodekovo border crossing point on the Russian-Chinese border.
The first train departed on December 2 and arrived at the destination on December 14. The second express train left for Grodekoov on December 15.
At present, timber trains will run on customers’ demand, in future, the operators intend to make the service regular.
