Russia’s Arctic Ports’ Container Throughput Down in September

    In September 2019, container traffic via Russia’s Arctic region sea ports decreased by 18.8% year-on-year. Cabotage, which accounts for the major share of the total, was down 20.4%. Export grew by 29%. Import made 74 TEU.

    Murmansk

    Cabotage that constitutes the major share of container traffic via Murmansk declined by 21.1% year-on-year in September. Export made 184 TEU. The total container throughput was down 12.8% year-on-year.

    Arkhangelsk

    Container traffic via Arkhangelsk increased by 44.5% year-on-year in September 2019. Most of the container throughput via Arkhangelsk is cabotage. In September this year it grew by 43.1%. Import amounted to 41 TEU.

    Dudinka

    Cabotage container traffic via Dudinka declined by 21% year-on-year in September.
