The cargo throughput of the Russian ports in the Southern region in September 2019 decreased by 4.4% year-on-year. Import was down 27.9%, cabotage down 36.7%. Transit grew by 9.3%. Export remained much on the previous year’s level (-0.1%).
The major share of the total throughput is oil and products. Crude oil accounted for 35% of the overall volume, oil products for 23.8% and grains for 16.9%.
Novorossiysk
The aggregate result demonstrated by the stevedores operating in the port of Novorossiysk increased by 10.7% year-on-year. Export was up 11.5%, transit up 6.5%, import up 15.6%, cabotage surged 6.1-fold.
Tuapse
In September 2019 Tuapse handled 8.2% more than during September 2018. The major share was export, which increased by 7.4%. Import surged 3.3-fold. Cabotage was down 30.8%.
Rostov-on-the-Don
In September 2019 cargo throughput via Rostov decreased by 20.8% year-on-year. Export was up 20.2%, while import dropped by 86.7%, and cabotage by 56.1%.
Taman
Cargo traffic via Taman declined by 24.8% year-on-year in September. Export decreased by 22.6%, transit was down 66.6%. Import, on the contrary, grew by 89.1%.
Kavkaz
Cargo traffic via Port Kavkaz decreased by 41.1% year-on-year. Export was down 41.8%, cabotage down 40.3%. Import was just 1.7% above the September 2018 figure.
