Baltic Chemical Complex Ltd. and VEB.RF Group have signed a credit agreement on financing the initial stage of the project aimed at developing a gas and chemical plant near Ust-Luga that will become the largest of its kind in Russia.
The facility will have a capacity of up to 3 mn tons of polyethylene per annum. Stage 1 of the project is to become operable in 2023-24, and in 2025 the facility is expected to start operating at its full capacity.
According to VEB.RF, the loan will be used for financing developing the pre-project documentation, paying against licensing agreements and contracts, including those on the acquisition of equipment, and for covering other expenses involved.
Financing will be granted on a stage by stage basis in accordance with the project schedule.
