According to the RF Federal Customs Service’s statistics, in January-August 2019 Russia’s export of vodka grew both in physical terms and value-wise.
It made 1.32 mn decalitres scaled down to 100% spirit, up 7.2% year-on-year, physically, and $92.8 mn, up 13.3%, in terms of value.
In August, Russia exported 216 thousand decalitres, up 14.1% year-on-year and up 6.9% month-on-month, worth $14.1 mn, up 6% year-on-year and 3.7% month-on-month.
Alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages import during January-August grew by 6.8% year-on-year to exceed $1.7 bn.
In August, it was up 9.9% year-on-year and down 6.8% month-on-month to $243.6 mn.
Cigarettes and cigars import in January-August dropped by 58.4% down to $41.6 mn.
In August, it was down 28.6% year-on-year and 10% month-on-month to $4.5 mn.
