According to the RF Federal Customs Service’s statistics, during January-August of 2019 Russia’s export of sawn goods made over 13.3 mn tons, up 4% year-on-year. In terms of value, sawn goods export grew by 0.9% making $3.1 bn.
In August, sawn goods export made some 1.7 mn thousand tons, down 0.4% year-on-year and down 5.7% month-on-month worth $378.2 mn, down 3.8% year-on-year and down 8.3% month-on-month.
Logs export declined during January-August by 17.2% year-on-year down to 10.1 mn cbm worth $732 mn, down 26.8% year-on-year.
In August, logs export made 1.1 mn cbm, down 30.8% year-on-year and down 19.7% month-on-month. In terms of value, it decreased by 37.9% year-on-year and by 26.7% month-on-month to make $70.9 mn.
Plywood export in January- August increased by 1.6% year-on-year up to 1.9 bn cbm worth some $785.6 mn, down 14.9%.
In August, plywood export made some 242.6 thousand cbm, up 9.2% year-on-year and down 23.3% month-on-month. In terms of value, it declined by 17.2% year-on-year and by 6.3% month-on-month amounting to $95 mn.
Wood pulp export in January-August declined by 0.7 year-on-year amounting to some 1.4 mn tons worth $744.1 mn, down 24.7%.
In August, it made 173.5 thousand tons, down 4.9% year-on-year and up 4.5% month-on-month. In terms of value, wood pulp export declined by 39.8% year-on-year and by 7.7% month-on-month down to $79.4 mn.
Newsprint export in January-August grew by 10% year-on-year up to 835.9 thousand tons worth $395.5 mn, down 2.8%.
In August, newsprint export increased by 10% year-on-year and by 12.3% month-on-month up to 114.3 thousand tons in terms of tonnage. In terms of value, it was down 24.8% year-on-year and up 7.9% month-on-month to $47.5 mn.
