In July 2019, the Russian Far Eastern ports increased their cargo throughput by 3.3% year-on-year. Export was up 1.3%, import up 21%, cabotage up 14.4%. Transit remained much on the previous year’s level (-0.2%).
More than 75% in the Russian Far Eastern ports’ commodity structure is coal, oil and products. In July, coal and coke accounted for 46.7% of the total volume, crude oil for 22.7% and oil products for 7.5%. Containerized cargo constituted 8.2% of the total.
Vladivostok
In July 2019 Vladivostok handled 15.7% more cargo than during the same month last year. Import increased by 30.9% and export by 21.8% year-on-year. Cabotage remained much on the previous year’s level (+0.4%). Transit dropped by 91% year-on-year.
Vostochny
Cargo throughput via Vostochny declined by 7.4% year-on-year in July 2019. Cabotage was up 17.3%, transit up 4.1%. Import was down 12.3%, export down 7.6%.
Vanino
Compared to July 2018 cargo throughput via Vanino decreased by 7.1%. Export was down 7.4%, cabotage down 20.4%. Import, on the contrary, grew by 30.8%.
Nakhodka
Cargo throughput via Nakhodka increased by 11.7% year-on-year in July. Import surged 3.3-fold, cabotage was up 81.7%, and export up 3.5%. Transit was non-existent in July.
Posyet
Cargo throughput via Posyet grew by 20.8% year-on-year in July. Export was up 19%, cabotage up 33.7%. Import was non-existent.
