According to the RF Federal Customs Service statistics, during January-June 2019 Russia exported over 21.1 mn tons of ferrous metals, down 10.3% year-on-year. In terms of value, ferrous metals export declined by 17.8% down to $9.8 bn.
Intermediate iron and unalloyed steel products export was down 7.2% year-on-year to some 7.6 mn tons. In terms of value, it decreased by 20.2% down to $3.3 bn.
In June, intermediate iron and unalloyed steel products export was down 14.4% year-on-year and up 3.9% month-on-month making 1.17 mn tons. In terms of value, it was down 27.4% year-on-year and up 0.3% month-on-month to $505.2 mn.
Iron and unalloyed steel flat section export in January-June declined by 16.5% year-on-year down to 3.4 mn tons worth $1.9 bn, down 22.7%.
In June, this commodity export was down 30.9% year-on-year and 9.3% month-on-month making 515.2 thousand tons worth $296.1 mn (down 34.9% year-on-year and 6.7% month-on-month).
Cast iron export in January-June declined by 20.3% year-on-year down to 2.4 mn tons worth $842.7 mn, down 23.8%.
In June, cast iron export made 542.4 mn tons, down 33.3% year-on-year and up 29.4% month-on-month. In terms of value, it amounted to $185 mn, down 39.7% year-on-year and up 27.1% month-on-month.
Ferroalloys export in January-June increased by 5.9% year-on-year up to 421 thousand tons worth $664.9 mn (+0.1%).
In June, ferroalloy export was down 39.8% year-on-year and 18.6% month-on-month to 61 thousand tons tons. In terms of value, it declined by 45.3% year-on-year and by 20.4% month-on-month to amount to $91.8 mn.
