According to the RF Federal Customs Service’s statistics, in January-May 2019 Russia’s export of vodka grew both in physical terms and value-wise.
It made 767.9 thousand decalitres scaled down to 100% spirit, up 13.4% year-on-year, physically, and $55.1 mn, up 23.5%, in terms of value.
In May, Russia exported over 150.7 thousand decalitres, up 13.4% year-on-year, but down 18.9% year-on-year, worth $10.8 mn, up 27.1% year-on-year and down 21.2% month-on-month.
Alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages import during January-May grew by 4% year-on-year up to slightly more than $1 bn.
In May, it was down 13.7% year-on-year and 2.7% month-on-month to $213.3 mn.
Cigarettes and cigars import in January-May dropped by 56.2% down to $23.8 mn.
In May, it was down 69.6% year-on-year making $5.6 mn.
