According to the RF Federal Customs Service, in January-June 2019 Russia exported some 104.3 mn tons of coal, up 7.6% year-on-year. In terms of value, coal export grew by 9.6% up to some $8.7 bn.
Coal import during the period under report made 10.4 tons (+5.2% year-on-year) worth $190.8 mn (+5.1%).
Coke and coal char export during the first six months of the year increased by 13.4% up to 1.7 mn tons. In terms of value it was up 11.1% to $423 mn.
In June, coal export made about 19.3 mn tons, down 0.7% year-on-year, but up 19.2% month-on-month. Value-wise, coal export declined by 9.7% year-on-year and grew by 15.8% month-on-month making $1.5 bn.
Coke and coal char export in June amounted to 391.5 thousand tons surging by 66.8% year-on-year and by 94.2% month-on-month. In terms of value it was worth $100.8 mn, up 68.6% year-on-year and 98.8% month-on-month.
