In May 2019, container traffic via Russia’s Far Eastern port was slightly down by 0.8% year-on-year. Import declined by 4.9% and export by 7.4%. Cabotage grew by 9.1% and transit by 0.6%.
Vladivostok
Vladivostok accounted for 60% of the aggregate container throughput of the Far Eastern sea ports in May. Compared to May 2019, the port handled container volume increased by 5.9%. Import was up 3.3%, cabotage up 13.2% and export up 4.3% year-on-year. Transit declined by 0.9%.
Vostochny
Container traffic via Vostochny during the month under report dropped by 19.3%. Import was down 25.4%, cabotage down 12.8% and export down 30.8%. Transit, on the contrary, grew by 17.9% year-on-year.
Korsakov
Cabotage constitutes the major share of the container throughput via Korsakov. In May this year it declined by 10.4%. Import surged by 93.1%, export was down 2%. The total container throughput was 8.6% below the May 2018 result.
Magadan
Container traffic via Magadan was up 21.9% year-on-year in May. Cabotage, which constitutes the major share of the total, increased by 23.2%. Import was down 5.1% and export down 27.8%.
Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky
Container traffic via Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky increased by 22.5% year-on-year. Almost all of the total volume is cabotage, which grew by 22.1%. Export surged by 83.7%, while import dropped by 61.2% year-on-year.
