Global Ports Shareholders Elect New Board

  • The shareholders of Global Ports Investments PLC at their annual general meeting held on June 18 in Cyprus decided to set the number of directors to be 11. Previously, the Board consisted of 15 members. The reduction in the number of directors is aimed at improving the efficiency of corporate government.

    Three new members were elected to the Company Board: Shavkat Kary-Niyazov, President of First Quantum Group, Mogens Petersen, APM Terminals’ Portfolio Manager, Russia and the Baltics, and Alexandra Fomenko, adviser to the President of Delo Group.

    The AGM re-elected Sergey Shishkarev, Morten Engelstoft, Soren Jakobsen, Anton Chertkov, Inna Kuznetsova, Britta Dalunde, Demos Katsis, and Lampros Papadopoulos as directors.

    The Board of Directors at its meeting elected M.Engelstoft as the Chairman of the Board.

    It also approved the merger of the Nomination Committee and the Remuneration Committee into one Nomination and Remuneration Committee electing I.Kuznetsova as Chairwoman of the Nomination and Remuneration Committee.

    The Board approved the establishment of the Strategy Committee and elected S.Shishkarev as Chairman of the new committee.

    B.Dalunde was elected as Chairwoman of the Audit and Risk Committee.

    Alexander Iodchin was re-appointed as the General Manager of the company and the secretary of the Board of Directors.
