According to the RF Federal Customs Service, in January-April 2019 Russia exported some 68.6 mn tons of coal, up 14.4% year-on-year. In terms of value, coal export grew by 21.5% up to some $5.9 bn.
Coke and coal char export during the first four months of the year increased by 5.3% up to 1.1 mn tons. In terms of value it was up 0.9% to $271 mn.
In April, coal export made about 15.2 mn tons, up 11.6% year-on-year, but down 36.3% month-on-month. Value-wise, coal export increased by 9.2% year-on-year and dropped by 40.4% month-on-month making $1.2 bn.
Coke and coal char export in April amounted to 309.2 thousand tons, up 54.8% year-on-year and 28.6% month-on-month. In terms of value it was worth $80.2 mn, up 56.6% year-on-year and 32.6% month-on-month.
