According to the RF Federal Customs Service, in January-March 2019 Russia exported 53.2 mn tons of coal, up 14.9% year-on-year. In terms of value, coal export grew by 24.8% up to some $4.6 bn.
Coke and coal char export during the first three months of the year increased by 2% up to 775.1 thousand tons. In terms of value it declined by 21.3% down to $190.8 mn.
In March, coal export made about 23.8 mn tons, up 19.3% year-on-year and 29.8% month-on-month. Value-wise, coal export increased by 26.8% year-on-year and by 29.4% month-on-month up to $2.1 bn.
Coke and coal char export in March amounted to 240.5 thousand tons, up 37.2% year-on-year, but down 13.3% month-on-month. In terms of value it was worth $60.5 mn, up 9.6% year-on-year, but down 11.8% month-on-month.
