According to the RF Federal Customs Service statistics, during January-February 2019 Russia imported 13.4 mn pairs of leather footwear, up 1.5% year-on-year. In terms of value, leather footwear import declined by 4.9% year-on-year down to $315.8 mn.
In February, leather footwear import was up 2.7% year-on-year and 31% month-on-month making 7.6 mn pairs.
Clothes import into Russia in January-February decreased by 1.8% down to $1.09 mn. In February, it was down 3.7% year-on-year and up 7.7% month-on-month to $568.3 mn.
Cotton fabric import during the first two months was down 10.5% year-on-year to 48.2 mn sqm worth $27.2 mn, up 3.4%.
In February, cotton fabric import declined by 25.8% year-on-year and up 2.7% month-on-month amounting to $24.1 mn sqm. In terms of value, it made $14 mn, down 2.1% year-on-year and up 7.7% month-on-month.
Cotton fabric export from Russia increased by 2.9% year-on-year up to 13.6 mn sqm worth $7.4 mn, down 5.1%.
In February, cotton fabric export increased by 1.8% year-on-year and 52.2% month-on-month to make 7.9 mn sqm. In terms of value, it made $4.3 mn, down 4.4% year-on-year and up 53.6% month-on-month.
