According to the RF Federal Customs Service’s statistics, during the first two months of 2019 Russia’s export of sawn goods made some 2.7 mn cbm, up 11.6% year-on-year. In terms of value, sawn goods export grew 9.1% making $641.6 mn.
In February, sawn goods export made some 1.4 mn cbm, up 9.3% year-on-year and 0.7% month-on-month worth $324.2 mn, up 7.1% year-on-year and 1.2% month-on-month.
Logs export declined during January-February by 16.9% year-on-year down to 2.4 mn cbm worth $183.7 mn, down 24.5% year-on-year.
In February, logs export made 1.38 thousand cbm, down 8.7% year-on-year, but up 33.2% month-on-month. In terms of value, it was down 16.5% year-on-year and up 31.4% month-on-month amounting to $104.3 mn.
Plywood export in January-February increased 4.5% year-on-year up to 422.5 thousand cbm worth some $195.8 mn, down 2.6%.
In February, plywood export made sine 215.4 thousand cbm, up 0.9% year-on-year and 4.5% month-on-month. In terms of value, it declined 7.8% year-on-year and grew 2.8% month-on-month to make $99 min.
Wood pulp export in January-February was up 5.2% year-on-year to 344.3 thousand tons worth $197.9 mn, down 9.6%.
In February, it made 165.4 thousand tons, up 0.9% year-on-year and down 8.9% month-on-month. In terms of value, it declined both year-on-year (-20.5%) and month-on-month (-13.4%) down to $93.3 mn.
Newsprint export in January-February grew by 33% year-on-year up to 211.1 thousand tons worth $110.9 mn, up 48.5%.
In February, newsprint export increased by 21.9% year-on-year and by 6.9% month-on-month to make 109.1 thousand tons in terms of tonnage. In terms of value, it was up 32.8% year-on-year and 3.3% month-on-month to $56.3 mn.
