Vostochny Port has loaded the first vessel at Stage 3 of its coal terminal. The ceremony was attended by RF Transport Minister Yevgeny Ditrikh and the Primorie Ktay Governor Oleg Kozhemyako.
The test shipment was loaded on board the 2012-built bulker “Modest SW” flying the flag of Panama.
Putting Stage 3 of Vostochny Port into operation will help increase coal traffic via Russian terminals and improve the competitive positions of the Russian coal industry in the global markets, said Yevgeny Ditrikh.
According to Olga Olkhovskaya, Director, Commerce, of Port Management Company, in which Vostochny Port is incorporated, the test loading was successful, after Stage 3 is put into operation the terminal capacity will increase up to 50 mn tons per annum.
