In the port of Ust-Luga, due to slower ice formation and milder weather forecast, the introduction of additional restrictions for vessels is put off until February 14.
Since this date, provided the ice reached 10-15 cm thick, the following restrictions enter into force:
- Barges pulled by tugs are not allowed to sail in the ice conditions.
- Vessels with no ice class are allowed to navigate only escorted by icebreakers.
- Vessels with the Ice1 and higher ice class and above are allowed to navigate with or without icebreaking support.
In the port of Primorsk, on the contrary, due to harsher ice conditions and the ice forecast, additional restrictions are introduced w.e.f. February 22 (provided that the ice thickness in the port reaches 15-30 cm), the following restrictions come into force.
