According to the RF Federal Customs Service statistics, during the full year of 2018 Russia exported 44 mn tons of wheat and meslin, up 33.1% year-on-year.
In terms of value, grain export surged 45.6% up to $8.4 bn.
In December alone, wheat and meslin export made 3.8 mn tons, up 11.9% month-on-month.
Wheat import into Russia during 2018 grew 27.9% amounting to 344.2 thousand tons.
In terms of value, wheat import was up 52.4% up to $60.5 mn.
Barley import dropped 90.2% down to 16.6 thousand tons, corn import declined 15.9% down to 44.2 thousand tons.
In terms of value, barley import was down 91.4% to $2.8 mn, and corn import down 14.2% to $156.4 mn.
