Timber and Logs Export

  • According to the RF Federal Customs Service’s statistics, during January-November 2018 Russia’s export of sawn goods made more than 17.7 mn tons, up 6.8% year-on-year.

    In terms of value, sawn goods export grew 13.6% up to $4.2 bn.

    Logs export declined 3.9% down to 16.9 mn cbm. In terms of value, logs export was up 13.2% making $1.3 bn.

    Plywood export increased 8.6% up to 2.5 mn cbm in terms of volume and grew 24.2% up to $1.2 bn in term of value.

    Wood pulp export was up 1.3% to more than 1.9 mn tons in terms of tonnage and surged by 41.6% up to $1.4 bn in terms of value.

    Newsprint export was stable in terms of tonnage making some 1.1 mn tons. In terms of value, it was up 35.5% to $593.7 mn.
