Eurosib St. Petersburg – Transport Systems has launched a new containerized rail service from the Chinese province of Inner Mongolia to Novosibirsk in Russia.
The cargo mainly consisting of consumer goods and electronics was accumulated at the Chisumu rail station in China, customs cleared for export at the Zamyn-Uud rail crossing and reloaded onto Eurosib’s fitting platforms. The border crossing on the Russian boarder was Naushki.
The train covered the distance of 4.2 thousand km in no more than 6 days. The planned service frequency is one in 10 days, to be later extended to weekly.
The project is realized in cooperation with ModernWayCrossBorderLogistics, which is responsible for delivering LCL cargo from Chinese provinces and ports to the Chisumu station, providing containers, and issuing transportation documents at border crossings.
In Novosibirsk, containers can be loaded onto other trains for domestic or export delivery.
