Food Import into Russia

  • According to the RF Federal Customs Service’s statistics, in January-August this year the import meat and milk products into Russia declined.

    Thus, Russia imported 257.3 thousand tons of meat and meat products, down 37.5% year-on-year.

    Fresh and frozen poultry import declined 12.1% down to 135.5 thousand tons.

    Fish import was down 1.9% to 244.9 thousand tons.

    Canned meat and processed meat products import increased slightly by 1% up to 11.9 thousand tons.

    Milk and condensed cream import dropped 43.2% year-on-year down to 92.6 thousand tons.

    Butter import declined 28.6% down to 55.2 thousand tons.

    Vegetable oils import increased 28.2% up year-on-year to 18.1 thousand tons. Palm oil import made in August as much as 101.6 thousand tons, up 45.8% month-on-month.

    Citrus fruit import during January-August grew 10.2% year-on-year up to 885.3 thousand tons. Apple import in August made 67.5 thousand tons (+6.5% month-on-month), and banana import was 93.8 thousand tons (-11.5% month-on-month).

    Raw sugar import in January-August dropped 64.8% down to just 3.7 thousand tons, while white sugar import grew 2.2% up to 177 thousand tons.

    Coffee import was up 5.7% to 127.8 thousand tons and tea import up 4.4% to 114.8 thousand tons.
