North-Western Shipping Company has published operational results for H1 2018. The volume of cargo carried declined 7.5% year-on-year down to 2.5 mn tons.
Timber cargo grew three-fold up to 0.2 mn tons, grains were up 51% to 1 mn tons, and non-ferrous metals up 25% to 0.1 mn tons.
Coal dropped three-fold down to 0.1 mn tons, ferrous metals were down 28% to 0.4 mn tons, and mineral fertilizers down 27% to 0.36 mn tons.
72% of the entire volume, or 1.8 mn tons, was export, which declined 10% year-on-year.
Import, which amounts to juct 1.3% of the total, dropped two-fold down to 0.03 mn tons.
Cargo transportation between foreign ports grew 17% up to 0.68 mn tons, making 27% if the aggregate volume.
