According to the RF Federal Customs service statistics, in January-February 2018 Russia exported 6.7 mn tons of ferrous metals, 6.7% above the figure for the first two months of 2017.
The value of ferrous metals exported grew 26.7% year-on-year up to $3.3 bn.
Intermediate iron and unalloyed steel products export declined 3.4% down to 1.19 mn tons. In terms of value this export category was up 21.9% to some $1.2 bn.
Iron and unalloyed steel flat section export dropped 9.1% down to 1.3 mn tons physically but grew 10.6% up to $759.2 mn in terms of value.
Cast iron export increased 24.8% up to 652.9 thousand tons physically and surged 46.8% up to some $233.8 mn in terms of value.
Ferroalloys export was up 7.7% to 121.7 thousand tons physically and slightly down (-0.3%) to $193.8 mn in terms of value.
