More Cargo Carried on Northern Sea Route

  • During the navigation period in 2017, cargo transportation in the Northern Sea Route basin increased 1.3 times making 9.9 mn tons, told RF Deputy Transport Minister Viktor Olersky the Board of the RF Federal Agency for Maritime and River Transport.

    In 2017, 662 permits were issued for vessels to navigate the Northern Sea Route (in 2016, 718 such permits were issued). Foreign flagged ships received 107 permits in 2017 compared to 144 permits in 2016.
