According to the RF Federal Customs Service, in January 2018 Russia exported 1.39 mn cbm of logs, up 12.7% year-on-year. In terms of value, however, logs export surged 21.6% up to $118.2 mn.
Sawn goods export grew 6.7% to over 1.18 mn tons in terms of tonnage and 26.5% in terms of value to $285.7 mn.
Plywood export made over 190.8 thousand cbm, 10.9% above the January 2017 level. In terms of value plywood export increased 32.2% to $93.6 mn.
Wood pulp export was up 16.8% to 164.6 thousand tons tonnage-wise and surged 58.1% to $102.9 mn in terms of value.
Newsprint export dropped 31.3% to 69.2 thousand tons in terms of tonnage and 23.7% down to $32.2 mn in terms of value.
