Volga Shipping has opened navigation in 2018 in South Russia a month earlier than usual.
The m/v “Kapitan Kanatov” (Project RSD44) started its first voyage this year. The vessel is proceeding from Rostov to Port Kavkaz via the Don river with a load of grain (5.2 thousand tons).
The company has prepared its vessels engaged in grain transportation for the early start of navigation, and plans to deploy three Project RSD44 ships and three Volgo-Dons in early March.
In the Upper Volga basin, Volga Shipping intends to open navigation in April.
