During the last 9 months of 2017, foreign trade turnover between Russia and the countries of the European Union increased 24.9% to 172.3 billion euros compared to the same period of 2016.
According to Eurostat, import of goods from EU countries into Russia increased 21.4% and reached 64 billion euros. Export from Russia to the European Union stood at 108.3 billion euros, an increase of 27% compared to the previous year.
Among the major importers from the EU, in January-September Russia continued to rate the fourth after the USA, China and Switzerland. Among the largest exporters to the EU countries, Russia remains the third after China and the USA.
