According to the RF Federal Customs Service’s statistics, Russia’s car export in January-May 2021 was up 43.8% year-on-year to 35.8 thousand units. Truck export grew by 23.1% making 4.8 thousand units.
In terms of value, car export was up 61.8% year-on-year amounting to more than $575.1 mn. Truck export increased by 8.1% to make $127.6 mn.
Russia’s car import in January-May 2021 was up 83.8% year-on-year to 141.7 thousand units. Truck import during the first 5 months of the year grew by 94.1% year-on-year up to 13.2 thousand units.
In terms of value, car import during January-May increased by 82% year-on-year up to $3.4 bn. Truck import surged 2.2-fold up to $876.3 mn.
In May, car export surged 2.5-fold year-on-year and declined by 21.9% month-on-month to 7.5 thousand units. Truck export made 1.2 thousand units, up 71.4% year-on-year, but down 7.7% month-on-month.
In terms of value, car export in May surged 2.5-fold year-on-year and decreased by 19.8% month-on-month to make $122.1 mn. Truck export was worth $25.1 mn, up 2.9% year-on-year and down 26.4% month-on-month.
In May 2021, car import was up 2.9-fold year-on-year and declined by 4.8% month-on-month to make 31.6 thousand units. Truck import made 2.8 thousand units, up 2.8-fold year-on-year and down 22.2% month-on-month.
In terms of value, car import surged 3-fold year-on-year and decreased by 3.2% month-on-month to make $713.7 mn in May. Truck import was worth $195.1 mn, up 3.4-fold year-on-year and down 10.9% month-on-month.
