According to the RF Federal Customs Service, in January-April 2021 Russia exported 64.5 mn tons of coal, up 13.9% year-on-year. In terms of value, coal export amounted to $4.1 bn, up 10.8% year-on-year.
Coal import during the period under report made 6.7 mn tons, down 7% year-on-year, worth $127 mn, up 22.5% year-on-year.
Coke and coal char export in January-April 2021 made 1.1 mn tons, up 73.8% year-on-year, worth $250.9 mn (up 2.1-fold year-on-year).
In April, coal export made 14.5 mn tons, up 22.4% year-on-year and down 35.5% month-on-month. Value-wise, coal export increased by 22.3% year-on-year and declined by 34.6% month-on-month making $976.9 mn.
Coke and coal char export in April amounted to 230.7 thousand tons, up 46.1% year-on-year and down 9.7% month-on-month. In terms of value it was worth $66.5 mn, up 2.5-fold year-on-year and up 8.8% month-on-month.
