Baltic and NW Europe Freight Market, Week 50

  • During week 50 freight rates in the Baltic and West European region changed little.

    Freight rates for shipping wheat from ARAG to East Med by Handysize bulkers were $27 per ton, and to West Med $23 per ton.

    Freight rates for shipping metal scrap also did not change, according to Glogos Project brokers.

    Freight rates for shipping metal scrap from Baltics to North Spain by 15,000 dwt vessels made $26 per ton.

    Freight rates on the Baltics – Wast Med route were $27 per ton.

    Freight rates for shipping metal scrap from Baltics to East Med by 25,000 dwt vessels made $28 per ton, to West Med – $25 per ton.

    Freight rates for shipping coal by Handysize bulkers did not change either.

    Freight rates on the Baltics – North Spain range were $25 per ton for 15,000 dwt ships and $20 per ton for 25,000 dwt ships.

    Freight rates for coasters changed little for most types if cargo, the only change was freight rates from the Gulf of Finland to Baltic countries, which made $14 per ton.
