Russian Grain Import and Export

  • According to the RF Federal Customs Service statistics, in January-November 2018 Russia exported 40.2 mn tons of wheat and meslin, up 39.7% year-on-year.

    In terms of value, grain export surged 50.9% up to $7.6 bn.

    In November alone, wheat and meslin export made 3.4 mn tons, down 23.8% month-on-month.

    Wheat import into Russia during January-November of 2018 grew 23.8% amounting to 305.8 thousand tons.

    In terms of value, wheat import was up 41.4% up to $52.3 mn. 

    Barley import dropped 92.4% down to 12.8 thousand tons, corn import declined 16.9% down to 38.4 thousand tons.

    In terms of value, barley import was down 93.6% to $2.1 mn, and corn import down 12.2% to $137 mn.
