TransContainer and Global Ports, both parts of Delo Group, have launched a regular train service for containerized cargo from Primorsk Kray in the Russian Far East to Chelyabinsk, Delo said in a statement.
Containers arriving to Vostochnaya Stevedoring Company, part of Global Ports, in the port of Vostochny are loaded on board a block train and carried by rail the station of Nakhodka-Vostochnaya to Chelyabinsk.
The transit time by rail is ten days, the planned service frequency is twice a week. The service is aimed to cater for imports from APR countries shipped via VSC.
The first block train delivered to TransContainer’s own terminal in Chelyabinsk 146 TEU laden with ferrous metal products, machinery and engineering products, and petrochemical products.
