The laser unit can cut metal structures up to 260 millimeters thick from a distance of up to 300 meters. Breaking the first vessels stared on October 14. The mobile laser unit was used to partially cut a sunken ship located 50 kilometers off shore. It will take a week to complete the cutting operations.

The mobile laser unit was also used to cut a ship sitting underwater at a depth of up to 4 meters not far from the berth.
