Atommash, Rosatom’s machine building division, has loaded a fifth nuclear reactor vessel this year for delivery to the customers, Rosatom press office has reported. The equipment was built for the third power unit of the Akkuyu nuclear power plant in Turkey.
According to Alexey Likhachev, CEO of Rosatom, the corporation has 33 power units for 11 countries in its orderbook.
The power vessel will be trucked to the industrial berth in Volgodonsk and loaded on board a barge for delivery to the customer. The distance to the destination is 3 thousand kilometers.
The heavylift power vessel is about 13 meters long, has a diameter of 4.5 meters and weighs 320 tons.
Akkuyu Project consists of four power units equipped with Russian made VVER reactors of the third plus generation. Each power unit has a capacity of 1,200 MW.
Akkuyu is the world’s first nuclear power plant developed on the Build-Own-Operate basis.
